When to Build
The best time to build an indoor pool is, inarguably, when you’re building the house. This way, the HVAC system can be properly routed, as the indoor pool room requires different ventilation. It also must be built at the right angle; the pool deck must be at a downward slope away from the house, so water doesn’t leak into the foundation. Expect your cost to go up if you’re installing an indoor pool post-build.
Ventilation
One of the most important parts of an indoor pool is knowing how much ventilation it needs. The humidity in the pool room should be kept at around 50 to 60%, which means you may have to install a dehumidifier. This way, you can prevent evaporation and dew. The ambient air temperature should ideally be kept two to four degrees above the water temperature, so be prepared to find a way to release all that humidity.
Windows
You must also be conscientious of windows and glass doors. They’re great during the winter when you want to have an open space, but during the summer, they can let in a lot of heat. It’s important that you make windows and doors which can open up during the summer to allow humidity to escape. If possible, vents under every pane of glass is a great way to ensure humidity won’t fog it up.
